Let me first introduce myself in saying that I'm the official kitchen nightmare. Without looking at a recipe, I couldn't whip up anything that tastes remotely good. I once got the slow cooker out and decided to make a mix of stove top stuffing, broccoli, potatoes, a can of onion soup, chicken broth and chicken. Then I waited for five hours. As you could imagine, I had to force it down. I threw most of it out. What was I thinking? How could that have possibly tasted even a little good?
So here I am. The recipe test subject. I'm hoping I might learn something here, along with you. Or perhaps you can pass me a recipe to try it out and post it. I hope to give you some useful tips as I learn them along the way. I have a few here listed below to get you busy.
- BREAD DOUGH To get your bread dough to rise properly, lightly spray your slow cooker insert with nonstick cooking spray. Place the dough in the insert and cover until it has risen. It make its easy to see the dough's progress.
- HOT PANCAKES Bring 2 cups of water to a simmer in a large saucepan. Place a large heatproof plate on top of the saucepan. Place the pancakes on the warm plate until your ready to serve. No one likes a cold pancake, and now you can eat all together.
- HOT PANS Try using pliers instead of heavy oven mitts to take your cookie sheets out of the oven.
